Money game, black on roll, cube action?

Black doubled, which was correct. I was white, and I took. People bet me I was wrong to take, and I won that bet. I also won the game easily.

SOMETIMES I DON'T BLUNDER!!!

Hi. I'd like to ask for a reason, why is a take. In similar positions , when I consider whether it's a take or not I try to find anything in my game that is better than the starting position- then I try to figure out if this is enough. By that I mean , any points(anywhere , not only in my board) , any structure , pip count , etc. In your case , you have nothing. Nothing at all. It's as you have just started the game and your oponnent is already many steps ahead. So I don't think that your position has anything good to give you a hope.
So , in my thinking always, you must have decided that it is your oponnent that is not strong enough. In this case,to be honest, I cannot say what 'strong enough' implies. If I hadn't seen this position here, I would say that this is a strong enough position, so a drop. Obviously I am wrong here

The simple answer to why it is a take is that you will win more than 25% of the time. That is all you need (taking gammons into consideration) to take a double in a money game. Yes, you will lose this game most of the time, but in the long run, you lose less money by taking and winning some of the time instead of dropping all of the time.

There are a lot of rolls left in the game, and if some good things happen, you can easily become a favorite to win this game. If the worst happens and you get no advantage from where you are, at least you have the one point anchor and will end up with a 1 point back game. With good timing, with just the one point and nothing else, you will still win about 15 percent of the time. So it doesn't take much more to give you a take once you have the ace point and some timing and some possibility that your opponent could leave a shot earlier that you might hit.
