Post subject: Double Match Point |

It is double match point DMP below (it's a 3 point match, and the cube is on 4, so whoever wins the game wins the match).
In this situations, how would you play a 6-2 for black?
The best play is to hit. It is very tempting not to...to make 5 in a row or run the back checker to get into position, but the key here is that white has a blot in his inner board so even if you get hit back you have a shot to get another checker. You are way down in the race, so you can't play passively and take a chance on white rolling a 6.
At DMP gammons and backgammons don't matter, and often it is right to take bigger gambles than you would at other times.
