In the situation below, it's a money game. Black holds a 2 cube and is on roll and has to play 6-4. How would you play it?






As you can see below, the right play is to move one checker off of your midpoint (13 point). It is okay to leave a blot, because white has two blots in his inner board and you would actually welcome being hit. Unless, of course, he rolls 1-1. But the odds of rolling a 1-1 are 35-1, and on all but that one roll, you come out way ahead by leaving the checker there. By leaving it there, it makes it much more difficult for white to bring home his two checkers from his midpoint.

Of course, in real life, which was a money game, the players made the right play, and I don't have to tell you what white rolled! Yes, 1-1!!!
